A Pair of Arrests Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

The assault caused the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
